General information

The University is the largest and oldest university in the region of Częstochowa. It employs over 1400 people, including 840 academic teachers, out of which 165 are independent scientific researchers. All faculties of the University have the rights to graduate doctors (currently over 300 post-graduate students), and three of them also habilitation.

There are around 23 000 students, studying 90 courses in full-time and part-time of 18 faculties.

For over 9 years there is academic choir Collegium Cantorum and Akademicki Związek Sportowy with 13 different sport sections.

Brief history

The University was founded in 1949 as Szkoła Inżynierska (Engineering School). In 1955 the name was changed to its current form of Politechnika Częstochowska.
